It is not easy to live with someone who is suffering from a bipolar disorder.  The mood swings that afflict those suffering from bipolar disorder could be distracting and destructing.  It could interrupt the normal course of living and destroy relationships.  Self-destruction is one of the end-results of bipolar disorder.  Alcoholism and drug abuse are also some of the activities that people with bipolar disorder turn to.

Is There Really a Bipolar Disorder Test?

Bipolar disorder testing is a testy subject, especially when it comes to children. As with all mental illnesses, there is no blood test that you can take to determine bipolar disorder.

A bipolar disorder test is done as a mental evaluation. You will be asked a series of questions relating to your moods and activities. If you do not answer these questions truthfully, you can get a skewed diagnosis. If your diagnosis is wrong, then there is no way to be treated properly.

Bipolar Disorder – Children and How it Affects Them

For many parents who suffer from bipolar disorder, children can be their greatest concern. They may be caught up in the question, will my child ever be able to live a normal life? Or: What if my child develops bipolar disorder?

These are both valid questions and living with bipolar disorder is never easy – for the person who has it and for their family.

When you have children, they should be your greatest motivator to get medicated and stay medicated. Only by sticking with a treatment plan that works, can you ensure that your children will be able to live a somewhat normal life.
