Bipolar Spouse? How do you Cope?

Are you dealing with a bipolar spouse?  How do you handle the severe mood swings, depression and mania?  Here’s your chance to share your experience with others.

There are several things you need to understand when dealing with a bipolar spouse.

  • There will be hard times.
  • There will be times when your spouse will be tempted to go off their medication.  It is your job to support them and encourage them to continue their treatment.
  • Affairs during manic episodes are not uncommon.
  • Work might be missed due to depression.
  • During manic episodes, your spouse may be itching for a fight.

Though it’s hard to cope with a bipolar spouse, it can be done.  With patience and understanding, your marriage can thrive.  Therapy is encouraged for your spouse as part of treatment, but you might want to also consider couples counseling or therapy for youself to help you deal with the situation.

If your really want to make the most of your marriage, there is a great ebook called Married to Mania that you can download instantly.  It will teach you how to survive a bipolar spouse, both financially and emotionally.  I highly recommend that everyone with a bipolar spouse read it.
